Hans Müller-Schnuttenbach, Julius Mermagen, Inge Erbslöh.
July 29 - August 24, 1949
“The determining impression is received this time in Possartstraße from the large collection of the landscapist Hans Müller-Schnuttenbach, whose 60th birthday gave rise to this unusually beautiful exhibition. The Frenchman calls this way of forming the seemingly uninteresting in nature with loving, one would almost say caressing hands ‘intimate landscape’. Gray moods are preferred, but color also comes into its own. And the fact that the technique sometimes reminds one of Toni Stadler from afar should only be noted in passing. The drawings are on the same level as the oil and tempera paintings. - Flower still lifes of subtle technique (colored pen and ink drawings on a black background) are shown by the former professor at the Kunstgewerbeschule Julius Mermagen. And in Inge Erbslöh, a daughter of the well-known painter, one gets to know a born sculptor of developed sense of form, which is convincingly revealed especially in her small animal sculptures cut from the block.” (Newspaper article, Digital Archive, Courtesy Kunstverein München e.V.)
