Holdings Reading

Artist, editor, and writer Aristotelis Nikolas Mochloulis is our current writer-in-residence at Villa Waldberta. He is the founder and editor of the newsletter Holdings, an irregularly released PDF sent out for free via a private mailing list since 2022. Each PDF pairs one or more texts with imagery from one or more artists, along with an editor’s note. Often, Holdings includes images or texts found in books or online that are retyped, copy-and-pasted, or scanned and included in the PDFs without permission; thought of as somewhere between appropriation and file-sharing.

For Holdings Reading on June 21, Mochloulis will read all of the texts published to date in reverse chronological order. We will meet at Kunstverein München at 3pm; the event itself will take place in the park next to the institution.
